I think what we need to be is not reasonable but rational. Like I said the President has endorsed an administrative decision and is also responsible for the ramifications of such a decision, he is also morally bound by accepting the decision. If it is a decision which he believes was a fundamental flaw he has every right not to accept the decision, he was not coerced into making a decision he does not agree with, hence I dont agree with you that he had no choice over the matter. The President had a moral obligation to act impartially during the crisis, he did not and hence it was a catalyst for the crisis.
I also believe that the Presidents handling of the crisis deserves to be scrutinised not at the elections but as part of any investigation into the recent crisis. As pointed out the President made some controversial decisions especially with his inflammatory speeches one which resulted in the burning of Taibessi market and inciting East West divisions.
I think it is difficult for some people to accept that the President is also prone to mistakes and that he may have made poor judgement (it is my opinion that he is as President incompetent but I do continue my respect to him as a leader of the struggle) during the crisis and thus in a different context I agree with you profoundly that “funny how some people will always try to argue something beyond that which is reasonable”.
On a lighter note, I agree with your point that the allegations against Mari is best left for the Justice System to resolve. However I don’t maintain my opinion that there is no concrete evidence so far that Mari was involved in the armament of a “hit squad”. This is evident in fact that the PR has not imposed any severe restrictions or has proceeded with to prosecution. It may be that the PR is waiting on the international investigating commission to release its finding. Again I agree with your point “let’s just wait and see”.

Penso que o que precisamos de ser não é (sermos) razoáveis mas (sermos) racionais. Como disse, o Presidente endossou uma decisão administrativa e é também responsável pelas consequências de tal decisão, está também moralmente obrigado a aceitar a decisão. Se é uma decisão que acredita ter uma falha fundamental tem todo o direito de não a aceitar, não foi coagido a uma decisão com que não concorda, por isso não concordo consigo que ele não teve escolha na matéria. O Presidente tinha uma obrigação moral de agir imparcialmente durante a crise, não o fez e portanto foi um estimulante da crise.
Também acredito que o modo como o Presidente geriu a crise devia ser escrutinado não nas eleições mas como parte de qualquer investigação na crise recente. Como foi apontado, o Presidente tomou algumas decisões controversas especialmente com os seus discursos inflamatórios um dos quais resultou no queimar do mercado de Taibessi e no incentivar de divisões Leste Oeste.
Penso que é difícil alguma gente aceitar que o Presidente também tende a fazer erros e que pode ter tido falhas de ponderação (na minha opinião é um Presidente incompetente mas continuo a respeitá-lo colo líder da luta) durante a crise e portanto num contexto diferente concordo profundamente consigo que “engraçado como alguma gente tenta sempre argumentar para além do que é razoável”.
Numa nota mais ligeira, concordo consigo que as alegações contra Mari é melhor deixá-las que o Sistema de Justiça as resolva. Contudo não mantenho a minha opinião que não há evidência concreta até agora que Mari foi envolvido no armamento de um “esquadrão de ataque”. De facto é evidente que o PR não impôs nenhumas restrições severas ou tenha prosseguido com acusações. Pode ser que o PR esteja à espera que a comissão Internacional que investiga emita as suas conclusões. Outra vez concordo consigo “vamos apenas esperar para ver”.
