It has to be noted that in contrast to the anti-democratic and unconstitutional tone and manner in which the cirtics of the government have behaved (burning cars, government buildings, smasshing the goverment main office and burning and destrying homes and property of those whose only apparent sin is being associated with the public administration, Fretilin or the government) that for at least one week now, illegally placed signs criticising the Government and the Prime Minister, which comprise one of the most bizzare and absent demonstartions (if not to say lazy) initiated by the infamous Angela Freitas from Partido Trabalhista, have remained untouched despite all good reason for them being removed, including legal reasons in that they breach the law on public dcemonstrations on a number of grounds.
It illustrates a high level of tolerance, respect and openness on the part of the government for no matter how small and in this case absent a minority to express their democratic rights. Such respect which has never been afforded to either the government or the Prime Minister.

Let these signs remain there I say as a testament to this value held for democracy as well as minority parties, in this case one which could not even have one member of parliament elected at the first elections.

Angela Freitas? I remember shortly after the violent demonstration on 28 Paril, hearing her make staements in the Australian media calling for Australian/international intervention. Something funny that someone should have so much foresight. She is truly not that smart. Very suspicious to me.

Isto ilustra o alto nível de tolerância, respeito e abertura da parte do governo em qualquer matéria, por mais pequena que seja e neste caso duma minoria ausente para exprimir os seus direitos democráticos. Tal respeito nunca eles demonstraram seja pelo governo seja pelo Primeiro Ministro.

Deixem estes sinais permanecerem lá como testemunho, digo eu, destes valores pela democracia bem como pelos partidos minoritários, neste caso de um partido que nem sequer conseguiu eleger um único deputado nas primeiras eleições.
O autoritarismo de um Governo democrático... como vai isto!
