São precisas mais actos para além das palavras. É preciso acção. E procurar interlocutores na sociedade civil, já que o Estado começa a estar minado pelos australianos.A Igreja, a fundação oriente, as empresas...
Se a CPLP não quer perder os timorenses, esse povo maravilhoso, do seu seio, é bom que trabalhe bem e rápido!

I make this comment as a foreing friend of East Timor. It is important to place current events into historical perspectives. Doing so demonstrates the motivations of nations when dealing with the people of East Timor and teir sovereignty. The brother and sister nations of the Timorese people, the Community of Portuguese Speaking People's, who were persistently at the vanguard of fidning for the East Timorese people their rightful national sovereign destiny are contributing by being supportive of the democratic porcesses and the rule of rule as seen by their most recent staement of solidarity for a free and fair election within the terms of the Timorese constitution. In contrast Australian governments persistently gave de facto and de jure recognition of Indonesian unlawful occupation of East Timor, the only nation to have done so against the wave of UN general assembly resolutions supporting the right to self determination for the East Timorese people. And American governments, who supported the Indonesian occupation including providing them with military training and weapons such as the Bronco AV-10 attack aircraft which broke the resistance at a cricitcal time in the resistance 1978. Without this, the resistance would have been much stronger for many years. Such military support continued for many more years. The Brits were not that far behind, as the provision of the Hawk bomber enabled the Indonesian military to undertake heavy bombardment on a scale unknown to that point in time, given the swiftness and heavy armaments payload of the Hawk bomber.

In contrast to the CPLP nations, the diplomats of these three nations can be heard almost daily to undertake their two favourite sports (not cricket or baseball) but CPLP bashing (doubtlerss because the CPLP nations support Timor unconcidtionally) and undermining the constitutional porcess whilst playing favourites with the political scenarios in East Timor. These nations are just doing what they have always tried to achieve, keep East Timor within their sphere of influence. Yet they cry and bleat friendship for the East Timorese people. With friends like these, who needs enemies. One can only hope that the impending change in government due to an election in Australia later this year and the recent electoral tsunami against the Republicans will bring this more into perspective. The East Timorese people want to be friends with everyone, all peoples. But the Timorese people are not blind or stupid either to history or current events.

"Apesar de frágil, Timor-Leste é uma jovem democracia em que acreditamos. É o país que escolhemos para viver e trabalhar. Desde dia 28 de Abril muito se tem dito sobre a situação em Timor-Leste. Boatos, rumores, alertas, declarações de países estrangeiros, inocentes ou não, têm servido para transmitir um clima de conflito e insegurança que não corresponde ao que vivemos. Vamos tentar transmitir o que se passa aqui. Não o que ouvimos dizer... "
