I am an Australian. Brigadier General Taur Matan Ruak is not just a soldier. He is a Freedom Fighter with dignity. He has an understanding of Democracy and the Rule of Law which is way beyond even Australian politicians on both sides of the political divide I have met and worked for.
It would be worse then for him to contest the Presidency of East Timor, seeing as Gusmao has already repeatedly stated he will not be a candidate....but then again I think he is also the ideal candiate to take on the "myth" created around Gusmao.

Seria pois pior para ele concorrer à Presidência de Timor-Leste, visto que Gusmão já repetidamente declarou que não se condidatará....mas também penso que ele é o candidato ideal para desmascarar o mito criado à volta de Gusmão.
